FAQ
Q: Who should attend?
A:
Any educator who wishes to learn more about how to use their computer and other technology tools more efficiently and effectively.
Q: If I have attended a CVTP Tech Camp before and received units from Fresno Pacific University, can I still get additional units for attending Tech Camp this year?
A:
Yes, each year Fresno Pacific provides us with a new course number. This is because there are so many Learning Opportunity Options to choose from, it would take a participant many years to ever reeat a session.
Q: How does the Microsoft Funding Reimbursement work?
A:
Microsoft has an application process to determine which professional development training companies were going to be included in their "approved" list. The application process included meeting high quality standards set forth by Microsoft. CVTP is on their approved list and as such, your District can apply to Microsoft for reimbursement of tuition fees paid to CVTP for training, i.e. attending Tech Camp 2008. It is up to your District to apply to Microsoft--CVTP will provide you with an invoice that the District will submit to Micorosft for reimbursement. All participants must pay their tuition fees prior to Camp and then after Camp, the District can apply for reimbursement.
Q: What if I don't know how to use a computer very well--are there classes to help me?
A:
Yes. Throughout our 21 years of providing professional development training to educators, we have learned that a good foundation to understanding how to operate a computer is essential to having "Happy Campers" at our event. The first day of Camp, you will probably want to select one of the Foundations Classes (either for the Mac or the PC). We will then offer more classes at a slower pace for you to tackle the rest of the week. We will guide you into not selecting classes that will make you uncomfortable.
Q: Are all classes offered on both platforms--Mac and PC?
A:
The classes that are specific to a platform, i.e. iMovie is only offered on the Mac. However, classes like Desktop Publishing with MS Word may only be offered on the PC as the software application is so similar on both platforms we may only offer it on one or the other--probably not on both.
